The track is also the first Top 10 charting song for Halsey, who contributes strong harmonies throughout the track. The track position brings "Closer" from No. 9 to No. 5 on the Billboard Charts. "Closer" is just the second track to have topped both Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and the Hot 100. The first being Baauer's "Harlem Shake" in 2013.
