The name Anthony Pavel doesn't likely ring a bell for most people, us included, but we're glad we stumbled across him and think you will too. Anthony released "HerStory" featuring Saba just last week, but lets rewind a bit and see why he's on our radar. Over the past couple of years, singer/songwriter/producer Anthony Pavel has made his way into Chicago's music scene under the cover of night it seems. Anthony's collected several production credits including co-production on Saba's "Comfort Food". He's also provided vocals alongside artists like A$AP Rocky, Mos Def, Saba, Noname Gypsy and more, gaining experience along the way under the guise of Robbie Mueller, the artist manager that also represents Eryn Allen Kane.
Anthony's vocal ability started paying off from the moment he performed his music in front of an audience for the first time. As part of 2015's Biggest Mouth contest, Anthony entered and won the contest which led to his opportunity to perform alongside Chicago favorites Saba and Twin Peaks at this summer's Manifest Urban Arts Festival put on by Columbia College.
With 2015 coming to an end, Anthony Pavel aims to continue the fast pace he's created with an upcoming performance on December 23rd at Reggies for a toy and food drive that is going to support the Boys & Girl's Clubs of Chicago and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Kicking off 2016, Anthony plans to release his debut, the Windows EP, which features the Saba assisted first single "HerStory" that we spoke about above. Although there is no confirmed release date for Windows, we're told to expect it early on in the year. Until then, make sure to check out Anthony's essential listens for highlights from his still very young career.
